Our client is the world’s largest integrated energy and chemicals company. With a workforce of over 73,000 worldwide, the company is committed to playing a leading role in the energy transition by driving energy efficiency and addressing the global emissions challenge.

Our client was looking to improve the recruitment of specialist upstream engineers from key locations across Europe. Their challenges included high competition for top talent in energy transition, niche expertise and skill requirements, culture fit among international hires, and talent retention.

The talent advisors at TrueBlue helped our client capture the attention of UK audiences with a media takeover of Aberdeen International Airport in Scotland during a key industry event. Aberdeen is often referred to as “the Oil Capital of Europe” and is home to the biennial “Offshore Europe” conference – one of the largest of its kind in Europe. The event attracts visitors and exhibitors from 100+ countries around the world, bringing an influx of industry experts through the Aberdeen Airport.

During this precisely timed out-of-home (OOH) campaign, Aberdeen International was inundated with advertisements featuring the benefits of working for our client and a call to action pushing visitors to our client’s careers site.

During the event, our client saw a 480% increase in traffic to featured careers site landing pages and 90 requests for information from UK-based contact forms.

In the weeks that followed the event, our client experienced a 15% increase in applicant volume from European candidates and a 75% increase in the quality of candidates from Europe. They also saw a consistent 60% increase in careers site traffic from European visitors.
